A Weekend in Amsterdam

Last weekend was my first visit to the very chilled city of Amsterdam, I was in town visiting my lovely friend Siem who showed me the ropes and introduced me to what life is like living in Holland. We fought against the weather to venture out and explore, unfortunately on our first outing the weather eventually won and I banished my battered brolly to the bin and we quickly headed for warmth and a glass of vino!

Despite the weather I still felt like I saw the beauty of the city beneath the grey! Whilst I was there we saw the Faceless exhibit at the Mediamatic centre, I ate some dutch croquettes, I discovered some cool shops like concept store Droog and loads of Vintage shops where I treated myself to a new coat. I cycled to a club on the back of a bicycle – and lived to tell the tale – and found out how the dutch do fast food.. via a vending machine!

It’s safe to say that this won’t be my only visit to this quirky and laid back little city. See you next time Amsterdam!
